Roadmap
What just shipped, what we're building now, and what we're weighing after that. Dates are deliberately absent: a small team promises work, not deadlines. When plans change, this page changes with them.
The Game Master suite, rebuilt for the table
The table-side layer StoryVue shipped is now one loop: prep the session from your own scenes, run it, and the night writes itself into the campaign record you hand the players.
- Combat runner. Click an attack to roll it, hit or miss against a target's AC with damage rolled per packet, in a two-pane run view with HP meters, condition timers, and a sticky turn strip you can advance from the keyboard.
- Living fights. Reinforcements can arrive mid-fight, a delayed combatant can act out of turn without breaking the order, and ending a fight writes an editable outcome straight into the session log.
- Session runner. The sessions list groups into Up next and Past sessions with a prep count on each row, and a one-row composer logs the table's notes, decisions, and rolls while the prep rail reads the encounter live.
- Session scenes. Build the agenda from scenes no other session has already claimed, and split a half-played one forward, carrying your note on what is left.
- The campaign journal. Star a beat as it happens and StoryVue assembles a chapter per session from your own log, ready to print as a GM copy or trimmed of secrets as a player copy.
- Roll tables. Ten starter tables ship ready to roll, six adapted from the 5e SRD under CC BY 4.0 and four written for StoryVue, and pasting a table of your own carries its printed odds straight into the weight.
All of it is in the existing World Builder plan at the same price, and all of it is deterministic: dice are dice, and there is no AI anywhere in the suite.
Recently shipped
- Mobile optimization. Every part of StoryVue now works on a phone, from the landing page through sign-up to the full app. Desktop is still recommended for long sessions.
- StoryVue launched. The full planning app is free forever, and every account gets one 7-day trial of the World Builder plan: no card, nothing to pick.
- The Game Master suite launched. Game stats, a bestiary, encounters with initiative, dice and rollable tables, sessions with a live log, and player secrets, all on the World Builder plan.
- A live demo on the landing page. Drag scenes on a real Master Timeline before you sign up, and download the included sample story to explore the whole app with it.
- Onboarding, rebuilt. A guided tour of your first project and a How to use reference that covers the entire app, in 26 sections.
- An accessibility pass across the whole app. Keyboard alternatives for every drag, reduced-motion support, measured contrast in both themes, and an automated check on every change so it stays that way. Details on the Accessibility page.
- Faster and sturdier. Projects now open from an on-device cache while the cloud copy syncs, image uploads are re-encoded and stripped of metadata on the way in, and a top-to-bottom review grew the automated test suite to roughly five hundred tests.
Landed since this page was last written
- Version history and a seven-day trash, on every plan including Free: automatic versions about half an hour after you stop, named versions that never expire, a word-level compare for any scene, and restore for one scene or the whole story.
- Your own fonts, and formatting that survives the compile. Upload a typeface once and use it in every project; it is embedded in the exported Word and PDF. Underline, highlight, colour, alignment, and a font or size set for one passage all reach Word, PDF and Rich Text.
- Canvases that read as directed graphs. Arrowheads on every story and plot link, labels in chips that never hide under a card, select a node to light up its links and fade the rest, and a docked Connection editor with one-click Reverse direction. The entity editor gained a section bar, a wide mode and a full-screen writing column.
- Import from World Anvil. Save a world’s export page and bring every article, cross-link, plot, timeline and stat block across, with a review table before anything is written. The import guide covers it.
- Yearly plans, 10–20% below twelve months of paying monthly, with the larger discount on the larger plan.
- Referral credit. Give a friend a month, get a month; your code is on your Dashboard.
