About StoryVue

StoryVue is a visual planner and writing tool for fiction writers. Characters, places, plot points, magic systems, and notes live on one canvas; scenes line up on one master timeline; and every scene gets its own canvas showing who was there and what had changed.

Most story tools are good at recording what your world contains. StoryVue is built around what's true at a given moment: relationships are arcs with phases, not fixed labels, and the state of every character accumulates event by event. When you open a scene, you see your story the way it stands right there, not the way it ends.

And when it's time to actually write, you don't leave. The built-in manuscript editor keeps your chapters and scenes beside the plan, with live references back to every character and place you've built. Type a name and the world you mapped is one hover away. Widen the editor or take it full screen, set a font for one passage, upload your own typefaces, and look back at any earlier version of a scene.

Your stories stay yours

Stories are private by default and readable by no one but you. That's enforced in the database, not just the interface. Every story exports to a plain JSON file you can keep anywhere, and imports back exactly as it was, and a World Anvil world imports from its export page (how). Your prose compiles to Word, PDF, Rich Text or plain Markdown, with your formatting and your own fonts kept. Every version is kept too, on every plan, and a deleted story waits seven days in the trash before it goes. There's no lock-in, no mining of your work, and no training AI on it.

Who makes it

StoryVue is built by a tiny team of independent developers, storytellers, and game masters who would rather ship useful features than raise prices. If something feels off (or something feels great), tell us.
