Plan. Write. Play.

StoryVue is a visual story planner and writing tool for novelists and game masters. Plan the world on interconnected canvases. Write the manuscript right where you planned it, with every scene knowing what changed before it. Play it at the table with sessions, encounters, initiative, dice, and the secrets your players haven't found yet.

Never lose track of who knew what, and when.

Record a change once, in the scene where it happens. A broken promise, a wound, a sword that changed hands. Open any later scene and every earlier change is already sitting there in order, as read-only context.

A StoryVue scene canvas with a read-only panel listing every change recorded in earlier scenes, from injuries to secrets learned to objects handed over, in timeline order.

Allies, then rivals, then something else.

A relationship isn't one label. It's a sequence of phases, each pinned to the scene where it begins. Your main canvas shows the whole arc. Each scene shows only the phase that was true at that moment.

One timeline carries every consequence.

Drag your scenes into the order the story actually happens. The Master Timeline is the spine of the project: it decides what counts as earlier, so every change you record flows forward from the scene where it happened.

StoryVue's Master Timeline: every scene in the story as a drag-reorderable row, numbered in the order the story happens, with its in-world date beside it.

The plan and the page, side by side.

Draft chapters beside the story graph. Type @ to reach any character or place, hover to glance, click to open the full entry. Compile to Markdown or Rich Text whenever you want, or to Word on the Author plan. Your formatting and your own fonts reach the finished file.

StoryVue's manuscript editor: draft prose in the main column with a chapter and scene binder beside it, and a character name in the text rendered as a live reference chip.

Find the holes before a reader does.

Eleven checks that read your story the way a structural editor would. None of them use AI, and none of them rewrite a word: they count, cross-reference and report, then leave the fixing to you.

Author also unlocks Word (.docx) export and selective chapter compile.

The Writer tools panel in StoryVue, listing analyses of the draft (reader knowledge, pacing, cast presence and writing habits), with one report open beside the list.

For worlds bigger than one book.

When the world outgrows the story, the top plan gives it room: places you can zoom into, bloodlines that shift as the plot does, and a calendar that runs on your rules rather than ours.

StoryVue's World Builder: a story map with numbered pins over its locations, a family tree of characters joined by marriage and descent lines, and a World Bible page composed from them.
Shown: the sample story, included free.

Interactive maps

Pin nodes to your own maps and nest them world to region to city.

Family trees

Bloodlines built from the relations already on your characters.

Custom calendars

Invent months, weekdays and eras, then date scenes in them.

Character timelines

Walk one character's whole life, scene by scene.

World Bible export

The whole world as a Word document or a print-ready PDF.

Run it at the table.

Prep the night from your own scenes, run the fight without leaving the page, and let the session write itself down. The log you keep at the table becomes a campaign journal, and the player copy prints with your secrets left out.

StoryVue's compendium: a searchable monster list with challenge ratings beside a full stat block, with both 5e System Reference Documents enabled as sources.
Shown: the bundled 5e SRD bestiary.

Session runner

Plan an agenda from your scenes, then run a live log at the table: notes, decisions, meetings, reveals, and rolls, in order. A scene you don't finish splits forward into the next night.

Encounters & initiative

Build fights from your creatures, check the balance against your party, then run them: hit points, conditions, temp HP, death saves, and a quick reference you can pin to any combatant.

Click to roll

Roll an attack from the stat block: advantage or disadvantage, natural 20 flagged, damage rolled per packet, applied full or half. Reinforcements arrive mid-fight, and the fight logs its own outcome.

A bundled bestiary

Both 5e System Reference Documents: 656 openly licensed stat blocks, searchable by name, challenge rating, and type, one click from joining your world.

Dice & rollable tables

Text-first dice, weighted tables that say what they roll, and ten to start with. Paste a table you already have and its printed ranges become its odds.

The campaign journal

Star a beat as it happens and the session writes its own chapter: what happened, who the party met, what they learned. Print the player copy without your secrets.

Plan free. Pay when you start writing.

Every planning feature is on the free plan with no time limit and no card, and so is version history. Paid plans add the manuscript editor, analysis, and the world-building surfaces.
