Accessibility

Our commitment

StoryVue aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, across this site and the app itself. A planning tool you can't operate isn't a planning tool, so accessibility is treated as part of the product, not a checklist bolted on afterwards.

Measures we take

  • A design system with measured contrast ratios, in both the light and dark themes.
  • Full keyboard alternatives for drag-and-drop reordering: anything you can drag, you can also move with buttons or arrow keys.
  • Reduced-motion support at every level: if your system asks for less motion, animations and smooth scrolling switch off.
  • Zoom is never blocked, on any page.
  • Screen-reader announcements for dynamic updates, such as reordering scenes.
  • A per-release accessibility review of what changed.

Known limitations

The visual canvases (the story canvas and the family trees) are best-effort for keyboard and screen-reader use; a freeform board of draggable nodes doesn't map cleanly onto either. Every piece of information they show is also available in a text-first surface: the Connections panel, the Kinship panel, the Scene Inspector, and Character Timelines. Connections are also edited in a docked side panel that opens from the keyboard and never covers the canvas. We're actively improving canvas keyboard support.

Feedback

If you hit a barrier, tell us: contact@storyvue.app. Include the page you were on and what happened, and we aim to respond within a few business days.
